Graffiti

Continuing to clean out my hard drive so I can start shooting again I found another photoshoot I did a while ago. My friends and I heard that this area was being torn down so we wanted to capture the graffiti before it was gone. As you can see the area was also being used as an improvised skate park! Since it’s graffiti I felt that the images needed more of a pop so I edited them a bit different then I usually do. I increased the contrast and saturation so that way they’re really eye catching! Thanks for having a look and be sure to tell me what you think!

Tofino

While adventuring in Tofino I had to capture it’s natural beauty so I whipped out my camera and took a ton of pictures!! Out of all of them these were my favourites. Finding some sea shell art at my favourite beach, Halfmoon Bay, I had to take some pictures to share! I also found that Tofino is a lovely location for taking portraits. The forest was especially handy for portraiture, since it’s in the shade I was able to get some great shots without having to deal with the intense shadows cast from the beautiful sun shine. A couple of the images I did decide to shoot in the sun light so I just exposed for the highlights and lightened up the shadows in post. With the beautiful scenery, I would definitely love to go back for more photoshoots! Feel free to leave me a comment or critique!

3 Inches of Blood 2009 Concert

The slideshow is conveniently located on youtube for your viewing pleasure.

Sorry about the sudden but inevitable hiatus! I’m afraid I haven’t had the chance to shoot much lately since my hard drive is in bad need of a cleaning, I have no room to add new content to it. Since cleaning takes a lot of time I have conveniently found the internet to distract me from it! However I have decided to finally get started on this very long task and thought I’d share some of my finds. Here’s a slideshow hot off the press, or Lightroom rather. It’s of the 3 Inches of Blood concert I went to in 2009! I shot it with my Canon xsi so excuse the graininess, if you have a thing against that sort of stuff, but personally I think it goes well with the whole metal concert feel. Looking back on these photos made me reflect on some of the lessons I learned from this shoot. First of all I really regret not having the guts to stand up at the front to photograph like I usually do at local metal concerts. Luckily I went with a tall friend of mine so he was kind enough to give me a boost for some of the concert, so take note: if you’re going to a concert and you don’t feel like shooting at the front bring a tall friend along. Ok all joking a side, one thing I did really like from shooting from the back was it allowed me to capture the moments when everyone had their horns in the air! Definitely something I’m going to have to remember to photograph at ever metal concert I go to. Another thing I realized is that I really have to get over my whole never use a flash thing. I worry about it being annoying but it would really be handy to capture a couple of great shots. I figure as long as I don’t over do it they won’t get mad, right? There were a couple of shots where I caught someone else’s flash and I really like the effect it gave me! I would love to practice shooting more shows, I really need to work at getting a shot of every member of the band. I find that the drummer is usually the hardest to capture! Well practice makes better, now I just need some free space to be able to shoot more shows! Anyways, hope you enjoyed and rock on!! Also comments and critiques are appreciated!

Fairweather Father

A while ago I shot a metal concert that a friend of mine was playing at. This is what I got, comments and critiques are appreciated!

Enjoying the Sunshine

My latest photoshoot was a rather enjoyable one. I had a photoshoot booked with someone that I was dying to capture in an all white outfit in an open field. I found a cute little field in the middle of an urban area that worked perfectly for it. The only thing that would have made the shoot better would have been a bit of rain. Usually I don’t shoot with such harsh lighting so I’m really glad that the pictures turned out so well. Comments and critiques are welcome.

A Little Bit Suggestive

Finally did a new photoshoot. The long hiatus was great for my creative juices!! I was commissioned to do an erotic photoshoot, here are the more appropriate images from the shoot. It was a lot of fun to just jump right into a new area of photography that I haven’t had much opportunity to explore and get my feet wet. Excuse the inappropriate jokes ;D The shoot did have a bit of a fetish feel to it which only made it all the more fun! I hope to be getting more gigs like this in the future. Also I realize the last image isn’t really erotic or kinky but what better way to end a socially awkward photoshoot then with a bit of comedy? Comments and critiques are welcome <3

Morning Fashion Photography

As promised I am catching up with my photo editing so here is my weekly update. This is another photoshoot that was done in an arena, bet you never would have guessed! I used a smaller aperture so the background would not be in focus. Using the beautiful light from the window and different angles I made the arena into an elegant morning fashion photoshoot. Comments and critiques are welcome.

Fashion at the Arena

Having fallen so far behind in editing all of my images here are some from a shoot a while ago. It was a fashion shoot that I shot in an arena, of all the places! It was rather difficult finding some decent looking backgrounds but luckily it was do able. I had the most fun with the shots taken of the model sitting upside down on the chairs! Comments and critiques are welcome.

Shooting a Dragon

Thankfully this sounds a lot harder then it actual was. You may recognize this not so scaly fire breathing model of mine. That would be because I shot him before. Unfortunately last time I didn’t have all of my equipment with me, thankfully not something I can say again for this shoot! I was able to use my flash at a low setting to be able to kick some light on him without over powering the light from the fire. As a result I was able to shoot at an ISO of 100. Although I was able to shoot at a higher shutter speed then last time I did find that some of the shots weren’t quite sharp because of motion blur. So I know for next time to shoot at an even higher shutter speed. I took a lot of my shots concentrating on the height of the flame since that is what he requested so he could have a reference. Next time I would also like to shoot somewhere with a better background but this was just a for fun shoot because he was trying out some new ideas. Comments are appreciated!

Beautiful Bride

I’m slowly going through my older pictures, editing them and getting them ready to post. Here are some wedding shots of a beautiful bride. My favourite shot would have to be the one where she was just relaxing and looks like she’s pouting. Comments and critiques are welcome!
